The Last Con
by E. L. Chase · High Velocity Crime series
A Las Vegas con artist, a lethal partner and a mogul who thrives on fear. The ultimate heist may cost more than money.
About the book
Jax Harlan owes Kane and needs one big score. He and Elena Voss run a mirrored game against the city’s most ruthless mogul, with a detective on the edge. The victory is hollow, and the guilt and attraction stay behind.
The feel of the read
The Las Vegas setting and the mirrored, tactic-for-tactic structure between Jax and Elena give this one a more elaborate, heist-movie feel than the other titles in the series, with a detective on the periphery to keep the stakes from being purely personal.
Who this book is for
Suits readers who want two equally matched con artists playing off each other, and who like a heist plot with romantic tension folded in rather than kept separate.
